A turquoise painted wooden ladder with red highlights believed to originally have been used by the Ministry of Defence Engineering and Design Department since 1944. 

 

The carving on the side of the ladder is a G followed by a crown motif and then a R implying that it was ex Ministry of Defence and on the rear the markings that we can make out say "E & D J L L" followed by 1944.  

 

The ladder is 130cm high and when split the base streches 85cm.
