REBECCA DE WINTER
Aberporth, Wales

Rebecca de Winter, known to her friends as Beki, is a Classical Realist painter who has been a passionate artist since a child. Her father was the professional artist Dr Henry Campbell, and studied under Florentine artist Pietro Annigoni, famous for painting Queen Elizabeth II. Growing up around her father she was encouraged to study the works of the great Italian and Dutch artist which clearly still influences her work today.
She followed her passion to university studying Graphic Design and Illustration which lead to a role at the BBC as an illustrator as well as roles at leading educational publishers in London and across Wales.
Moving to Kent to start her family, Beki began teaching Art at Kings School Rochester. This led to a twenty-six-year teaching career at Kings as she progressed to run the Art Department. Throughout this time, she continued to paint outside the classroom and exhibited in several galleries across Kent.
In 2005, Beki took the decision to move to Wales, to follow her heart and fully commit to painting. For the last fourteen years Beki has experimented and developed her style, increasingly looking to combine the realism from her childhood with new found interest in abstraction.
