Ryan Gauge's creative practice stands as social and political commentary. Focused on our very modern identity. Mixed Media is used to document and comment on current social, normalised issues, from our online curated identities to pillaging our traditional youth culture through aggressive marketing tactics. Part anthropologist, part critic, Ryan uses his practice to facilitate understanding and instigate discussion about the complexities and social norms created by a generation of marketed youth. Ryan utilizes ceramics and the base medium to explore these concepts, creating modern, relatable objects that explore these underlying narratives in faux realist settings.
